Field of activity
The Programme objective reads: The preconditions for political and legal participation of the population are improved. The programme is structured in 5 complementary action areas: Action Area 1 aims at the reform of legal and institutional framework conditions for political participation and the use of rights. Action Area 2 aims at improving access to financial resources and to capacity development measures for civil society organisations (CSOs). Here, the programme concentrates on further strengthening the Zambian Governance Foundation (ZGF) as a national promotion institution for civil society. Activities in Action Area 3 are targeted towards improving the preconditions for paralegal services and mediation for disadvantaged groups. Its focus lies on strengthening selected civil society organisations which offer paralegal services, through ? among others ? financial support and capacity development. Action Area 4 is aiming to inform the population on selected political and civil rights and on the possibilites of utilizing paralegal services. Action Area 5 is focusing on justice sector reforms. Here the intervention - among others - aims at improving cooperating structures amongst justice stakeholders

Your tasks
  • Supporting the programme coordinator in managing the programme, especially with regards to:
  • Adjusting the change project approach to the upcoming programme phase and new partners
  • Further improvement and application of the monitoring and evaluation instruments of the programme
  • Monitoring and evaluation data collection from partner organisations
  • Further development of the information and knowledge management of the programme
  • Support to the reporting to different commissioning parties
  • Donor coordination
  • Support in the management and supervision of a subcontractor
  • Logistical and content related preparation of meetings and events
    Advisory services: Advising (state and non-state) partner organisations of the programme on topics such as:
  • Results-oriented programme planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation
  • Development of a gender tool kit
  • Social accountability tools, e.g. on service delivery monitoring in the justice sector

    Your profile
    Master degree (MA) in Social Studies, Political Science and/or Economics; practical experience from the civil society field; practical experience in the governance sector, especially with regards to advocacy and policy work as well as M&E; experience in programme management; intercultural sensitivity and ability to communicate in a politically sensitive context; ability to work in a team; knowledge of the Zambian governance context and institutional landscape; Knowledge of GIZ policies, rules and procedures; Africa experience. Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English
